Political Correctness - Holbrook

This is where Political Correctness leads us. “White Christmas”…performed by an African American Country Artist…is…RACIST.

From Doug Giles at “Clash Daily”, Darius Rucker’s performance of the Christmas Classic ‘White Christmas” at Rockefeller Center was followed by a flood of activity on Twitter. Here are some examples:

  • Darius Rucker On TV singing “Im dreaming of a White Christmas” In NY Like He Free In America. We tired of These ‘White” Christmases
  • Darius Rucker singing White Christmas in Rockefeller Center. One block over, streets shut down for Eric Garner. Utterly surreal.
  • Of course they have Darius Rucker singing “Dreaming of a white Christmas “, f—ing white people
  • Can’t believe people form Ferguson aren’t boycotting darrius Rucker after that performance of white Christmas

From Liberal Chick (Facebook)

  • Share my video if you think #WhiteChristmas shood be banned from America forever

(Note – All typos and grammatical errors above are those of the Tweeters and Facebookers, not mine. Just thought you should know)

Now, I realize that this may be representative of  only a small minority of the population…I hope at least…but it is symptomatic of the absurdity of the “Brave New World” (Aldous Huxley) we are entering.

One of the Tweeters above describes the performance as surreal. What is surreal is taking a pleasant Christmas song evoking memories of happy times and Christmases past, running it through the liberal/progressive content mixer and making it into something else.

The song is about SNOW people…not race.

Okay…so what? Why give the race baiters and political contortionists any credence? Why not ignore them until they go away?

Because they won’t go away. Given enough numbers and political strength, they would gladly take away personal liberties from everyone else to advance their political agenda. And their ultimate political agenda item is the centralized, collective control of society, so that everyone conforms to their view of what is fair, and sensitive and correct.

Think I’m wrong? Look again at “Liberal Chick’s” Facebook post.  “Share my video if you think #WhiteChristmas shood be banned from America forever”.  Sounds silly, but they are absolutely serious. This is how they feel about free speech. In the mind of the Freedom haters, they have the right to band together and ban something from America forever. Why? Because they don’t like it…because it doesn’t fit their agenda…because it is not sensitive. Forget freedom of speech, and every other personal liberty as long as you toe the “Party Line” and think as they do.

I have one thing to say about that…&%#@ Your Sensitivity!

I know that may sound harsh, so let me be clear about this and the whole sensitivity issue. I don’t go around hurting people, have taught my children not to hurt people. I try to be sensitive to the feelings of others and do not go out of my way to offend them.  However, I will not relinquish my right to think and act as I please, for the sake of someone else’s feelings any more than I expect them to do so for me. They should be free, as should I.

Let’s make it even simpler. We all learned it on the playground in school at an early age. “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me.”

What does that mean? It means that unless someone is attempting to physically harm you, ignore them if you don’t agree with them.

Sometimes I wonder when we became such a nation of victims, of sissies, of people who have to be protected from every bad and unpleasant thing that happens in life, and to be protected at the price of everyone else’s Liberty? But I know the answer.

Victimization is a control mechanism and political correctness, couched as sensitivity, is one of its tools. Politicians love making us victims, encourage us to believe we are victims, want us to turn to them to save us. In the end they, and frankly both parties do it, want us to have our hands out and rely on them to “help us” to “fix our problems”. And my friends, every time we do, we give up a little bit of our freedom and they strengthen their position in office and their standing in the political aristocracy we have created.

Freedom is not based on sensitivity. Its foundation is truth. I have said this before. Political Correctness is the antithesis of Free Speech. It destroys truth, and loss of truth destroys Freedom.

Acceptance of the politically correct version of anything, from either side of the political aisle, is the first giant step towards relinquishing your right to think and act as you see fit. When that happens your Freedom and Liberty disappear, vanishing into the empty, absurd, Twilight Zone universe of political correctness.

I know I sound radical to some but we are so close to Orwell’s 1984 “Newspeak” that it is frightening. We may laugh but these are the people who drive the agendas and both parties pander to them. Fight for Free Speech. It is the foundation of our Liberty.

By the way Darius Rucker is a great artist and musical talent. I’m a big fan.  Here is the link to his performance of White Christmas at Rockefeller Center. Share it if you like it and perhaps stop a little of the PC idiocy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv0jE8fYrWM
